The Beard ‘Eclipse’ slide carrier

When using a magic lantern slide projector, you need a slide carrier or changer to insert the slides into the lantern. They are usually made of wood and most are for standard, three and a quarter inch, square slides. The quality varies enormously but the Rolls Royce of carriers is the Beard Eclipse. They are occasionally to be found for sale on Ebay and are a sound investment, especially if you intend to show your slides to an audience and don’t want a white screen between slides. Having bought one, it can be difficult to figure out how it works, so this video aims to de-mystify it. I hope you find it interesting and helpful.

The next video shows the slide carrier in action. Please note that there is no sound.

If you found this interesting, please share it with your family and friends. If you’re not reading it on my ‘Magic Lantern World‘ website, then please visit.
